This weekend is the V8 Supercars Dick Smith Sandown 500, held for three days from Friday 14 to Sunday 16 September 2012. And there is something for motor heads of all ages. Oh, and kids under 12 enter FREE if accompanied by a paying adult.

Part of the track side entertainment is the family zone, sponsored by Disney-Pixar and consisting of activities an d games associated with the Disney-Pixar movie CARS, designed to delight children of all ages.

This year Lightning McQueen is joining his friend Mack the Transporter as part of the Disney-Pixar CARS Truck Tour – which forms the hub of the family entertainment zone at the Sandown 500 this year. Families can ride, race and play their way through the World of CARS themed on-track entertainment as part of the official Disney-Pixar CARS Truck Tour.

Once Mack The Transporter rolls into position, the semi-trailer folds out to reveal a series of entertainment zones and activity stations for the whole family. From Lightning McQueen's slot car racing tournament to Mater's Pitstop, Doc Hudson's Driver Training Track, Ornament Valley photography, Lizzie's Curio Shop and the ultimate Cars PS3 Race-O-Rama Championships.
