Windsor is set to light up the night with its annual Christmas celebration and this year will be bigger and better than ever thanks to an Open Streets Program grant from the NSW government.

One enchanting evening will see you enjoying a wonderland of festive vibrancy with creative activations, illuminated Christmas installations, lights and projections, colourful chalk art and Christmas murals on the ultimate Christmas trail, and that’s just for starters.

Enjoy some fantastic Christmas chalk art by talented artists along the Christmas trail

The Hawkesbury’s elves are hard at work planning a spectacular event for the whole family and Santa is so excited that he’s sending two live reindeer all the way from the North Pole to meet visitors, as well as appearing in person with Mrs Claus for a meet and greet. Be sure to get a reindeer passport too and take yourself and your friends on an interactive adventure to find 7 reindeer in the ‘Find a Reindeer’ competition.

Take a photo with the reindeer for a gold coin donation

Over 50 charming market stalls on the main streets will provide for your shopping needs, whether it’s presents and stocking fillers, table decorations, hampers, jewellery or pet gifts you’re after. Many of the shops in Windsor Mall will be open too, and decorated for the season.

Shower your beloved dog with gifts from the market

Plenty of options abound to fill your stomachs, with cafes and restaurants extending their opening hours, food trucks making their presence onsite and the Windsor Public School providing a BBQ with delicious treats.

This street fair is also filled with live entertainment, including heartwarming Christmas carols, acoustic music by local artists, dancers, hula hoopers, a cheeky elf juggler and a whole lot more bringing joy to all that roam to the main stage on George Street.

There's loads of festive talent to get you in the spirit of the season

For the young creatives, there are Christmas card and craft workshops, and if you’re after some unique photos then pop by the Caravan Photobooth to grab a Christmas photo in the vintage van in Alley Way or make some playful poses whilst enjoying snow flurries in the snow zone. Free face painting for children is available and will make those photos even more special.

Going further than in past years, this event will take up more of George Street, extending along Windsor Mall and Baker Street, from the historic train station to the shops and parks (McQuade Park & RSL Memorial Park), Thompson Square (with activations), Deerubbin Centre, the Old Royal Hotel/Peppercorn and the Total Hearing Building (both with light projections), and more. Check out the website for all you can see and do in the various locations.

Witness the giant tree as it lights up

Along the way, embrace the community spirit and holiday magic as you discover Christmas in all its glory (with a few surprises) in this historic town that sits beside the Hawkesbury River, and don’t forget the annual lighting of the Christmas tree taking place at 9pm in front of Loder House.
