The Leukaemia Foundation's Light the Night is an annual fundraising walk to help Australians beat blood cancer through emotional support and research.



The twilight event through the streets of Adelaide brings a little light into the lives of others and helps to lift the hearts of blood cancer patients.

Since the first Light the Night in 2008, more than 150,000 people have walked and raised approximately $7.5 million for blood cancer research.

The money raised goes directly to the National Research Program and funds 71 projects including providing Patient Transport Vehicles and assisting cancer patients with accommodation.



Last year, I joined thousands of others in the procession of light and walked alongside my two friends to support them. It was a beautiful night; emotional and inspiring.

Walkers are encouraged to attend and add to the visual delight by carrying a gold lantern to remember a loved one, a white lantern to reflect their personal journey with blood cancer or a blue lantern to show support. Let's hope that one day there can be a cure for leukaemia, myeloma and lymphomas.

Entertainment, food trucks, drinks, licenced bar, toilets, donation centre and fundraising booths.

Parking:
Plenty of street parking and there are many carparks nearby
Parking will be available for $5 at the Henry Waymouth CarePark on Waymouth Street from 5pm. 60% of the profits will go towards the Leukaemia Foundation.
