The Leukaemia Foundation are using soft, colourful lights to attract people to the St Kilda South Beach Reserve in October for their annual fundraising walk. Enjoy this reverent, visually stunning parade and help raise funds to support people living with or battling leukaemia.
The lantern walk is a peaceful, family-friendly event along the South Beach Reserve in St Kilda. Filled with more than the soft glow of atmosphere, there will be live musical entertainment along with food vans, water station and merchandise stalls to ensure every need is met.
Please Note: is a pet free event.
There are three different coloured lanterns to choose from. Gold lanterns are to remember a loved one, white is for people on their own blood cancer journey and blue is to show your support.
The Leukaemia Foundation Light the Night walk is being held on Friday 7th October 2016 from 5.30pm to 8pm at the South Beach Reserve located on Jacka Boulevard, St Kilda. There is paid parking at the St Kilda Sea Baths and limited surrounding street parking. There are plenty of trams and buses running into the St Kilda area and public transport would be a viable option for those who can.
Merchandise can be purchased from the
Leukaemia Foundation Light the Night website – or log on simply to make a donation. Every dollar counts.
There are plenty of walks already registered on the
Leukaemia Foundation website. Walks are being held right around Australia throughout September, October and November. Find one close to home or organise your own. Everyone is welcome to organise a lantern walk event. It doesn't need to be huge. Just a private gathering of family and friends is okay and all the information you need to register an event is available on the
website.
