We all know that living in the Ellenbrook and Aveley locality has a wonderful community feel about it. There have been many feel-good stories lately about the person in front of you in the fuel station paying for your fuel, or the person in front of you in the supermarket paying for your shopping etc. Well, let's bring this remarkable community spirit together with our families and friends for Light the Night on Friday 7th October 2016, a nationwide event, right here in Aveley!

Light the Night is an annual fundraising walk to help more Australian's beat blood cancer, organised by the Leukaemia Foundation . Everyday, 35 Australians are diagnosed with blood cancer. Leukaemia takes more lives than breast cancer and melanoma. Most of us have been affected in some way by cancer and this is a great opportunity to get involved with your local community and make a difference.



You carry a coloured lantern with you on the walk, you choose which colour you would like to carry:

GOLD - To remember a loved one
WHITE - For your own blood cancer journey or
BLUE - To support others.

You can help by joining the Aveley walk today and simply raise $100.00 before you walk. It's easy to do if you join the walk early enough and there will be ideas to help you in your fundraising kit.

The event kicks off at 5pm with the lantern collection, markets and entertainment. The walk commences at 7pm and 8pm is the official close of the event.
