Reaching the cosmos and metaphysics through neon lights
Do not miss out the extraordinary free exhibition by Nanda Vigo at Palazzo Reale, Milan. Walking by the neoclassical wide rooms of the Palazzo, a blue and violet brightness will catch you, moving your attention and imagination on it.

The main light work is called Arch/arcology, dated 2018 and made by alcantara fabric that covers different shapes, outlining a balanced composition themselves in a huge rectangle. It is an interesting piece indeed, considering that Nanda Vigo is an architect and designer who focuses her competencies and skills on light research, transparency and immateriality. This sculpture really conveys the concepts of lights and shapes fluidity within a room inhabited by humans. Basically, she reconnects to the effect of spacetime, both in physics and philosophy. Here these dimensions are reproduced under the power and the delicacy of light. In the following installations, it is possible to find the pulsating light reflecting on a metallic cylinder, as if is a dark sun is reflecting its glare in the room, showing its innate presence and strength to the humankind. These kind of ambiences and projects continue inside, where industrial glasses are trapped in metal boxes, sometimes enlightened by neon lights and representing the spiritual in art and in an unusual perception of reality. Moreover, the so-called deep spaces hung on the walls look like intergalactic spaces and resemble dark holes. To me the inspiration coming from Kandinsky 's works was evident.

The totem installation, that is literally on neon fire, presents geometrical figures stuck on the orange column itself and it is quite fascinating to observe and analyse it, as it could be referring to an extra transcendental experience in order to reach a universal harmony. The same contemplative feeling with the cosmos will be founded in the last installation full of mirrors, disposed of the prehistoric Stonehenge standing rocks which destabilise the static order of the ambience and of the people's mind as well, in order to get tuned with the ether altogether.

I believe through eighty pieces, the exhibition gives such an inspiration and reflection about the interconnection among life, nature and universe that everyone who is Milan should pay a visit.
