As part of the Shimmer Photographic Biennale photographers were given the theme of Light.

The resulting nineteen photographers selected now proudly hang at the Red Pols gallery .

As there are nineteen photographers, so we have nineteen different vantage points.

But how to capture light on film?

At the opening of the exhibition invited guest speaker Paul Atkins from 2014&utm_campaign=Newsletter&utm_medium=email Atkins Technicolour spoke about the one word brief given for the exhibition, Light. Paul was excited by the many guests at the opening, the quality of photography on show and the way the theme was interpreted.

One of the featured photographers was Beverly Southcott , who has created an ethereal outer worldly image of a glowing mix of colours behind glass.

Beverley also exhibits in other media as an artist.

This is a high quality installation of works. Framed well and showing an impressive slice of individuality and diversity. Most of the works are for sale, except the one I wanted!

The Shimmer Photographic Biennale has a host of events, workshops and exhibitions to view.

Red Pols is a very popular gallery and restaurant among the vineyard dotted landscape of McLaren Vale.

It regularly has new exhibitions that support local artists.

It is worth a visit for the art, music, location, wines and food.
