Lifeline Harbour to Hawkesbury Book Fairs 2014

The Harbour to Hawkesbury division of Lifeline runs a number of book fairs each year in order to raise money for its 24 hour telephone counselling service. Each one takes place at a different venue and they range from clearance sales to fiction sales and general book sales.



April 26-27, Thornleigh: This sale will take place at Thornleigh Community Centre, from 8.00am to 5.00pm on both days.

Saturday May 31 & Sunday June 1, Hornsby: Everything on sale at this clearance only costs $1.00, but unlike the Thornleigh sale, you've only got one day to get it. The event will run from 8.00am to 4.00pm in the Hornsby RSL War Memorial Hall.

July 10-13, Wahroonga: Taking place at Knox Grammar School, this general book sale will run from 9.00am to 9.00pm on Thurs/Friday and 9.00am to 5.00pm on Sat/Sunday.

August 23-24, West Lindfield: Another weekend-long sale, this clearance will run from 9.00am to 4.00pm. You will find it at the former scout hall on the corner of Ignatious Road and Polding Road.

November 8-9, Hunters Hill: This general book fair will run from 8.00am to 5.00pm at Hunters Hill Town Hall.

December 6-7, West Lindfield: A $2.00 fiction sale will take place at the same site as the August sale (the old scout hall), from 9.00am to 4.00pm.

Generally, the sales only take cash or EFTPOS, so remember to come prepared (bringing a bag is a good idea too). It's often necessary to get there early if you're after specific books, as some shoppers take these sales quite seriously and clean out the best books pretty quickly. Usually there's not just books though, but CDs and DVDs on sale as well.

The details of these events have been collected well in advance of them actually taking place, so it's a good idea to head to the website and confirm the information is still the same before you attend a sale.
