Books to suit all ages, tastes and interests

Lifeline's much-loved Thornleigh Book Fair celebrates its 10th Anniversary at the Thornleigh Community Centre on the weekend of 2829 April, 8am to 5pm.

Offering a diverse range of over 50,000 good-quality second-hand books in more than 50 categories - as well as some rare special editions, CDs and DVDs - this annual family-friendly fundraiser promises book bargains galore at a fraction of retail prices.

Categories include history, biography, memoir, literary and commercial fiction, cookery, art, sci-fi, music, craft, poetry, sports, science & nature, military, gardening and children's books. In addition to special editions and a huge variety of CDs and DVDs is a selection of computer games and toys, all individually priced at a fraction of retail cost.

A team of friendly volunteers will be on hand over the entire weekend to answer questions and lend assistance.

The layout of the space has been revamped to ensure a customer-friendly experience with wider aisles for comfortable browsing and easy access to the thousands of books which have been cleaned and sorted for presentation in their different categories.

There is also an area designated especially for children - from the very young through to teenagers - where kids' and young adult books will be in plentiful supply.

Entry is FREE and ample street parking is available.

Cash and card payments are accepted.

All money raised will go to Lifeline for their ever-increasing community needs, including Suicide Prevention and their 24/7 Telephone Crisis Line of 13 11 14.
