GIANT Book Fair of the year
The Concourse, Chatswood, Sat 1 – Sun 2 February
Lifeline Harbour to Hawkesbury (H2H) kicks off the new year with its first giant book fair for 2020 at The Civic Pavilion, The Concourse, Chatswood. Bigger than last year's blockbuster success at this popular venue, the Chatswood Book Fair will be offering over 60,000 books of outstanding quality, range and scope in more than 50 categories—including Art, Military, History, Biography, Commercial Fiction, Literature, Sci-Fi, Gardening, Cookery, Craft, Science, Travel, Sport, and Children's & YA titles.
With 2020 being the 250th anniversary of Captain Cook's mapping of Australia's east coast, the Chatswood Book Fair is delighted to be able to offer an extraordinary collection of journals, biographies and illustrated histories about the famed explorer.
Also among the diverse selection of special editions available to bibliophiles and collectors alike is a beautiful 5-volume set of Frank Lloyd Wright's collected writings, featuring photographs and the architect's own drawings of his iconic creations. And for lovers of the classics, a treasure trove of Dickens's works, a 2-volume set of Austen's Pride and Prejudice, and a wonderful selection of Folio Society titles are also up for grabs.
This year, Chatswood Book Fair is introducing a new category section: vinyl records. Featured will be 150 records in excellent condition, ranging from comedy and Broadway musicals to classical and rock — including, Bob Dylan, John Lennon, Billy Joel, Wings, The Rolling Stones, The Goon Show (7-vol set), Beethoven, Verdi's Rigoletto, and Hair.
These, and SO MUCH MORE, will be on sale at this fantastic family fundraiser, where you'll find in ONE BIG PLACE OVER ONE BIG WEEKEND a breathtaking variety of printed books as well as DVDs, CDs, vinyls, comics and video games at bargain prices. Not only is it an ideal opportunity to stock up on textbooks and study guides in time for the start of school and university terms, it's your chance to score bagfuls of quality items for a fraction of retail cost while assisting Lifeline to change and save lives.
Proceeds from the book fairs are an essential funding source for Lifeline's telephone crisis support and suicide prevention services. For more information on Lifeline and/or the Chatswood Book Fair, go to www.lifelineh2h.org.au
