Eat Street Car Park is getting a makeover and to celebrate, City of Parramatta is presenting a 'Life is Sweet on Eat Street' party on the rooftop!
All are welcome to come and enjoy this FREE community event on Saturday 1st of April, 2017. The fun will kick off at 3pm and during the afternoon there will be heaps to see, do and explore.
Some of the exciting event highlights include:
Eventgoers will also see world-renowned, Sydney-based illustrator James Gulliver Hancock transform the rooftop with a live mural painting of Parramatta cultural icons!
Fresh from his New York based project 'All the Buildings in New York', Hancock says that he is excited to be involved with the project in Sydney's Central City.
"Having spent a lot of time living and working in cities overseas, it's exciting to be engaged physically and creatively with my home city. There is no better way to reintroduce yourself into a city than to paint directly onto the walls, and to take the rich architectural, cultural and natural narratives within Parramatta and play with them graphically," Hancock said.
There'll will also be plenty to savour and sweeten up the evening with authentic Turkish gozleme and an array of delicious sweet treats such as homemade lollies, freshly baked doughnuts and crème brûlée from Torch Me Brulee, Gourmet Fairy Floss, including Nutella Fairy Floss from Fluffy Crunch and Coffee and Tea from Darcy Street Project, home of the Hot Ottoman.
Don't miss this special evening of art, film, games, live music and sweetness on the Eat Street Car Park!
"The Eat Street dining precinct attracts almost 240,000 visitors every year who come to enjoy the vast and vibrant array of restaurants and cafés" said City of Parramatta Administrator Amanda Chadwick.
