I listen to downloaded books while driving or travelling, and not everyone who has their ear plugs in while walking is listening to music.
I love audio-books! Audio books are for everyone!
A few years ago a friend told me about Librivox. Librivox means free voice. There are staggering number of titles online ready for downloading, in fact the challenge can often be choosing which book you want to listen to.
Have a snoop around the catalog to find titles that you might be interested in.
All the books are read by volunteers, some books have several voice version online that are created by different people recording the same book. It was a bit odd listening to books when I started but now I'm hooked.
Just a few tips:- if there are several versions of the book listen to a sample of each and see which reader you like the most and go with that person. Sometimes when you first hear a reader's voice you mightn't like the sound but in some cases it's just because the regional English accent sounds unfamiliar and once you've listen for a while you won't notice it.
Audio-books also great for entertaining kids, but don't assume what we now see as a kids books has always been a kids book. And remember they're not only for kids, you can do your housework/ironing or exercise while listening
A few books that I've listened to include
The original series of Tarzan by Edgar Rice Burroughs and there are several versions of each of his books.

There are also children's books available with such titles as The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling (1865-1936)
