The Library at the Dock offers much more than just books to borrow or read. As part of the six City of Melbourne libraries, any resident of Victoria can join for free. Books can be borrowed and returned at any of the libraries, making it very convenient no matter where in the city you are. Check out the details for all services here.
The Library at the Dock occupies a modern purpose-built building, houses a large collection of fiction and non-fiction books, has a recording studio, creative editing suites and provides performance space, gallery space, exhibitions, and a multi-purpose room for hire. There is also a children's playground outside, with mature trees and green spaces to relax and play.
The library is Melbourne's first public building with 6-star environmental status. It's worth having a look at it even if you are not a resident of the area. And what better reason to do it than when there is a sale. On October 27th from 11 am-3 pm, you can find some great book bargains and check out the library at the same time.
Pre-loved hardbacks will go for $2, paperbacks $1, junior books 50 cents or 10 books for $10. So if you are a book lover you cannot miss this great opportunity! The views from the library are pretty good too.
