Summer is here!
Where? You may ask. It's been so long awaited it is hard to get up in the morning and trust that the golden sunlight is warm but if you make your way to Kinkora Avenue, Hawthorn, you will find a summer experience, regardless of whether the heat has set into the concrete yet or not.
A glass window-lined breakfast haven, it is only here that the taste of summer is perfected in the fruit salad. Melbourne is known for breakfast all day but fruit salad is often the menu item least respected or displaced by Acai smoothie bowls and fussy yoghurt pannacotta creations. These fuss beyond recognition with the purity and beauty of just plain fruit hidden.
At Liar Liar, it is, however, recognised how little fuss is needed. Knife cuts do not decimate the enjoyment of large cuts of melon and foams and crumbs do not deconstruct the pleasure into an
Alice in Wonderland like powder. A few flowers call your mind back to an orchard and honey tinged labnah offers creamy lusciousness that ties every fruit you could dream of into happiness on a plate.

From summer salads, crumpets and porridge, to eggs on toast, acai and muesli bowls, the only real difficulty is choosing.
The seating is varied, groups can find a private nook and singles can settle in autonomy on a bench by the window or at the large communal table ideal for study.
The music has the flavour of the 90s. Life buzzes around you while there are plenty of dress, clothes, bathers and bookshops around the corner to amuse you on your journey home.
