is tucked away from the main café strips of Ashgrove, Red Hill and Paddington, hiding in a suburban Bardon street and surrounded by classic, wooden, Queensland homes. (I must admit that it took me a little while to find it, but was curious when I did). It is this local, community charm that makes this former butcher shop turned café store so unique.

The exterior of little shop is painted a clean, classic white, has a baby blue front door and is devoid of signage. It was the only café in the street so I was pretty sure I was in the right place. The inside of the café is tiny – little more than a counter, drinks fridge and specials chalkboard. The curb-side is where the action and conversation takes place. Seating is limited to a wooden communal outdoor table at the side of the shop and a window bench is useful to rest a coffee while having a chat.

On the day of my visit (after I grabbed a coffee and slice of banana bread), a mother and her toddler were sitting outside on the curb with a bundle of toys to keep bub occupied.

has limited opening hours in comparison to other nearby cafes, trading for just 5 hours each day from 7am-12noon and a smaller menu. It's a good spot to grab a quick coffee on the way to work or that last minute bite to eat when you ran out of time for breakfast.
