In this public talk His Eminence the 7th Dzogchen Rinpoche will explain how past regrets and hurt can often be the cause of on-going stress and unhappiness – but it doesn't have to be this way.We try to come to terms with the past but the methods we often apply such as brooding, trying to ignore the experience, suppressing our emotions or feeling guilty are hardly helping. From the Buddhist point of view we can understand the cause of our difficult experiences and what we can learn from them. Seeing our hard times in this light can transform the problems that give us so much misery into a solution, resulting in less obstacles and giving us more confidence and strength.
During the talk His Eminence will provide practical methods that can help us to heal and overcome blockages from the past. Being introduced to the Dzogchen view of who we really are, we discover that our true nature is pure from the beginning and unaffected by any experience, allowing us to naturally let go and move on with a happy and fulfilled life. This is a unique opportunity to receive guidance from Dzogchen Rinpoche, who regularly tours the world sharing his wisdom and knowledge. The Sydney public talk will be held at the Redfern Town Hall, 73 Pitt Street on Wednesday 28 October at 7.30pm (doors open at 7pm).Tickets are priced at $25 and $20 for concession card holders and can be purchased at www.trybooking.com/DEDU The talk will be followed by a residential Dzogchen meditation retreat entitled 'How to Overcome Stress' from Thursday 5th November to Thursday 12th November in Central Victoria. The wonderful atmosphere and beautiful natural surroundings of the retreat environment inspire meditation and support the student to gain direct experience of Dzogchen. For bookings and information about other empowerments, teachings and Dzogchen retreats with Dzogchen Rinpoche please contact Shenpen Australia on 0416 404 826, [email protected] or visit www.shenpenaustralia.org
