Design College Australia is hosting a introductory 1 Day or 4 Day Letterpress Workshops this July. These workshops are ideal for anyone who is interested in this creative printing technique, which dates back to the mid-15th century and was commonly used to print newspapers and books right up until the mid-20th century. Whilst letterpress printing is no longer the primary printing method of newspapers and books, it is still favoured by many designers to create unique imagery, backgrounds and fine typography on a wide range of materials, including broadsides, artist's book, posters, greeting cards and stationery. There is a high level of craftsmanship involved in the hands on process of Letterpress printing and under the guidance of experienced Design Collage Australia tutors, students will work on individual projects, with their final designs printed on single colour proofing presses.
There are two workshop options available;A 1 Day Letterpress workshop on Sunday, 19 July 2015, from 10:00am to 4:00pm, or a 4 Day Letterpress workshop every Sunday from Sunday, 19 July 2015 to Sunday, 9 August 2015, from 10:00am to 4:30pm.All workshops will be held onsite at The Bacon Factory @ Design College Australia .If you are interested in attending either Design Collage Australia Letterpress workshop, please click here or here and follow the links.Places are limited and all required materials are supplied. For more information on either course, please visit click here .
