Get the kids out of the house on cold, wet days
It was a cold, wet Sunday morning – the second consecutive day of rain we'd had. The kids were climbing the walls; my husband and I were going insane. We needed to get out of the house. We knew every indoor playground in Canberra would be overflowing with cabin-fever-suffering kids like ours, but it seemed a small price to pay if it meant leaving the house and not getting wet.
Let's Play indoor playground, Gold Creek
We ventured to Let's Play at Gold Creek, and were pleasantly surprised. Yes it was busy, but not unbearably so. We bought our tickets, put in our order for a complimentary coffee and managed to easily find a table as a "base" for our bags, food and drinks.
The kids (3 and 2 years-old) were in their element. They started in the "Under 4's" section, before mustering the courage to try the "big" slide. Parents are welcome to accompany their children down the slide, and there is enough room for an adult-sized person to comfortably climb to the top and slide down.

EQUIPMENT: Let's play consists of two main areas: 1. Under 4s – this area has a small jumping castle, soft play area, ball pit, slide and climbing frame.

2. Over 4s – there is a "super" slide with large climbing frame, and ball pit. There is also a larger jumping castle adjacent to this structure.

Various party packages are available for children of different ages. The parent's room with change tables, a sink and microwave is also handy if you have a bubba.
Let's Play also has FREE WiFi.
FOOD AND DRINK: Let's Play's simple range of food includes: kids sandwiches (from $3), gourmet sandwiches (from $6.50), salads (from $6.50); meals such as burgers, steak sandwich, egg and bacon roll – all served with chip and salad (from $8); light snacks such as chips, nachos, quesadilla, and hot dog (from $5); Tots Meals such as burgers, quiche, chicken nuggets, cocktail franks, mini sausage rolls and pies $7.
Hot drinks including a variety of teas, coffees and hot chocolate from $3.50 and cold drinks including: juice, milkshakes, iced coffee/chocolate, slushies and soft drinks from $3.
TIPS: Everyone seemed to disappear around 1pm – perhaps to make their way home for lunch and arvo naps. We left around 1.45pm, so it was great to get the place to ourselves for a little while. I'm not sure if it gets busier later in the afternoon, but I would recommend trying to go around 1pm when it's quieter.
Children AND parents - don't forget your socks. No shoes or bare feet on the equipment, socks must be worn at all times. Let's Play sell a selection of socks for children and adults.
