I'm a writer living in Melbourne and am excited about anything to do with animal welfare, raw foods, veganism, vintage style, the environment and mindful living.

Where "LesBi friends" is an acceptable pun
The Lesbian Social Fun Club is a friendly, open minded group of lesbian, bisexual (or unsure) females in Melbourne who are looking to connect and socialise, making meaningful friendships within the community. There are usually events held each week that suit a range of interests, one of them being the "Soul Sisters: The Story is Out" workshop.
Soul Sisters: The Story is Out Workshop This workshop is built around sharing stories and experiences of "coming out" and empowering yourself and others. It is ideal for those who are new to the group, even those who aren't ready to share their stories are still encouraged to come and listen. It may include activities, letter writing and group discussions that focus on family, workplace, spirituality and stereotypes.
The workshop is structured allowing time for ice breakers and initial introductions, large and small group discussions as well as nibbles (feel free to bring a little something to share) and mingling towards the end. Soul Sisters usually takes place once a month on a weekend and is held at the Collingwood Library. Become a member of the Lesbian Social Fun Club to receive updates of when the next workshop will be held, otherwise there will be other events to go along to in the meantime.
Letter Writing at Soul Sisters Workshop
This group creates a strong sense of community and support for queer women no matter what stage of their journey they are at. Voicing your experience can help others in the same position as well as help to breakdown stereotypes we often feel placed under. Here we are encouraged to open our hearts with acceptance of ourselves and each other.
