Following its acclaimed, sell-out youth production of Wicked in 2018, the Young Australian Broadway Chorus is proud to present Les Misérables in 2019.Playing for a limited season of only 10 shows at The National Theatre Melbourne. Tickets are now on sale.Winner of over 100 international awards and seen by over 65 million people worldwide, Les Misérables is a true modern classic and features one of the most memorable scores of all time.This epic and uplifting story about the survival of the human spirit will be brought to life by Melbourne's most outstanding young singers and actors in a large cast of over 100, a full youth orchestra, spectacular costumes and sets.
Based on Victor Hugo's 1862 novel of the same same, Les Misérables is set in nineteenth-century France and tells the tale of Jean Valjean, who has been released from 19 years of unjust imprisonment. As Jean finds nothing in store for him but mistrust and mistreatment, he breaks his parole in hopes of starting a new life. What follows is a lifelong struggle for redemption as he is relentlessly pursued by police inspector Javert, who refuses to believe that Valjean can change his ways.

[BREAK]About Young Australian Broadway Chorus (YABC)In addition to Wicked (2018), the YABC has produced many independent theatre seasons including Spring Awakening (Melbourne Premiere 2011), Seussical (Malthouse Theatre & Adelaide Fringe Festival 2013), Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Malthouse Theatre & Adelaide Fringe Festival 2014), The Secret Garden (Southbank Theatre 2016), Honk Jr (Southbank Theatre & Adelaide Fringe Festival 2017), Shrek Jr (July 2017), plus many productions in the Disney Junior Series, including Beauty and the Beast Jr, Alice in Wonderland Jr, Aladdin Jr and The Little Mermaid Jr. The YABC is well known for its programmes and productions for young people.
