Coming to the National Theatre - 10 shows only

Following its acclaimed, sell-out youth production of Wicked in 2018, the Young Australian Broadway Chorus is proud to present Les Misérables in 2019.

Playing for a limited season of only 10 shows at The National Theatre Melbourne. Tickets are now on sale.

Winner of over 100 international awards and seen by over 65 million people worldwide, Les Misérables is a true modern classic and features one of the most memorable scores of all time.

This epic and uplifting story about the survival of the human spirit will be brought to life by Melbourne's most outstanding young singers and actors in a large cast of over 100, a full youth orchestra, spectacular costumes and sets.

Based on Victor Hugo's 1862 novel of the same same, Les Misérables is set in nineteenth-century France and tells the tale of Jean Valjean, who has been released from 19 years of unjust imprisonment. As Jean finds nothing in store for him but mistrust and mistreatment, he breaks his parole in hopes of starting a new life. What follows is a lifelong struggle for redemption as he is relentlessly pursued by police inspector Javert, who refuses to believe that Valjean can change his ways.

This spectacular production is directed by Robert Coates, produced by Elysia Krstevski and features choreography by Jacqui Green, costume design by Jennifer McKenzie and orchestration by Justin Jacobs.
