Les Lee Park at Norman Point is surrounded by beautiful Tin Can Bay's estuary, with a range of facilities that make it an ideal base for families exploring the area.

The highlight of the park for many are the beach-themed huge, multi-age playgrounds upgraded in 2019, and set adjacent to the car park. The first is a gigantic playground structure for older children that centres on a multi-storey tower with two super-tube styled slides descending from it.

Set at varied heights, these slides are designed to allow children of different ages and confidence levels to enjoy climbing, and then sliding back down again. The structure also has a variety of climbing equipment for ascending the tower, including brightly coloured climbing walls and a set of steps for younger children.

Finally, this rope climbing structure allows a number of children to climb, play, and explore together while enjoying the stunning views of Norman Point.

There is a second, smaller beach-themed playground for younger children, with this one set under shade sails.

As with the larger playground, this smaller one has multiple slides exiting the climbing structure from various levels, making it suitable for children of various ages and confidence levels.

Soft fall surfaces are placed strategically around both playgrounds, such as at the bottom of the slides. There are also two swing sets - one with standard swings, and another that can take a few children, or even and adult and children, together on its woven base.

The playground is surrounded by a number of picnic shelters, two of which have two, well-maintained electric BBQs within them.

Other facilities at Les Lee Park include:

  • Public toilets with showers
  • Disabled and baby change facilities
  • Drinking water
  • Paved pathways suitable for walking, bikes, and scooters
  • Car parking
  • Fantastic climbing trees

  • Les Lee park is set just across the car park from the fabulous Barnacles Dolphin Centre with their wild Australian humpback dolphin feeding and interaction experiences, making it an ideal base for families wanting to extend their day in the area once the wild dolphins have returned to their daily hunting in the estuary.
