If you are looking to give a loved one a thoughtful handmade gift this Christmas, take note of this fun creative workshop with artisan Meei Yun.
Held at Incinerator Gallery on Saturday 24 November 2018 from 2pm, the Leparello Workshop will show you how to make a classic leparello (concertina fold) art book.
A leparello can be used as a journal, art book, photo album or fold out display book for small artworks and photos.
This will make a great Christmas gift for a friend or family member and the foundational techniques used to construct a leparello can be used to make more complex books and bookbinding methods.
Workshop facilitator Meei Yun has a long history in historical document restoration and preservation. Through this work, she discovered a passion for making and binding her own books, using traditional techniques and handmade, specially sourced papers and materials.
The fee for the workshop is $50 or $40 concession and includes all materials for a leparello book, take home instructions, and a delicious afternoon tea featuring traditional Taiwanese sweets.
The workshop is held in an encouraging and supportive environment and all are welcome to join in the fun! Why not get your friends together and enjoy a leisurely afternoon of arts and crafts!
Bookings are essential and places are strictly limited. Secure your place today at ticketebo.com.au.
