Do you have a child who is motivated and ready to achieve before their time? Perhaps they have business ideas and they really want to make their mark in the world, or perhaps you are looking for a school holiday program with a difference. If so, may be just what you are looking for.

Lemonade Stand is a business that runs ongoing classes throughout the year. They generally follow school holidays for programs.

Over the upcoming April school holidays, the team at Lemonade Stand would like to invite your child aged between 9 and 13 years to participate in a 2 day Lemonade Stand the Business School For Kids program.

The aim of Lemonade Stand is to instil an entrepreneurial mindset early on in the children's career and provide the tools that children will need to validate, test and market their ideas effectively.

Who knows, you may now have the next millionaire living under your very roof!

Startup Kids Success Stories from Lemonade Stand
- Nick D'Aloisio was 17 when he sold his news app Summly for US$30M.
- Juliette Brindak was 16 when she launched Miss O & Friends. It's now worth US$15M.
- Cameron Johnson was 15 and earning US$400,000 each month with SurfingPrizes.com.

With kudos like that, it has intrigued many young entrepreneurs to join in this program.

Whilst your child(ren) will be whisked away for a 2 day experience, you do get to join in their discoveries. On the second day of the workshop, the participants (that is your children) will pitch to their parents and friends their ideas, a business proposition and a guide as to what they wish to do about bringing their creative projects into reality.

In chatting with the Lemonade Stand team, they advised that their program is designed for children who want to fast-track their business ideas and quickly set up businesses that will grow, change and evolve with the times. They are passionate about teaching children the importance of moving from being a consumer, to becoming a producer.

Their demographic shows that many of the parents of children who will attend this class already own their own small business and see the value in setting up and establishing a program and insight, such as this, for their children.

It is commonly understood in marketing that it is not likely over the span of a modern child's lifetime that they would have only one career, rather it is understood that they will move from career to career at different stages. This workshop will give them the skills to develop these different ideas and different businesses, so they can flow with the trends moving through their life and career.

So who attends a workshop like this?
Generally participants are children between grades 5 and 6, although this is a loose category and it is relevant for children aged 9 to 13 (and perhaps above and below this depending on interest and drive).

How do they come to be in this workshop?
Many of the children have discovered this program on their own behalf and interested their parents enough to send them along. Other children come as a holiday program away from school, whilst their parents are working.

What to bring?
Participants are required to bring a laptop or internet device such as a tablet if they do not have a laptop. They will be creating and working on this for ideas and even doing some 3D printing.

Learning with games and fun ideas the kids will develop some marketing tools and some business propositions that interest them and to assist this process Beginning of the first day, they will be playing games with "future deck cards", where children in a group will pull out a card and problem-solve together about things they are passionate about.

Some of the children may already be running their own e-commerce stores and this workshop will allow them to ramp up their business or select new products. On the last day of the program they do a pitch session, where they have to get people involved in their program and parents will be invited into the pitching session.

In the January program the children came up with some innovative ideas, including drones to deliver food.

The Lemonade Stand team believe we should ask the kids what they want to create when they grow up, rather than what they want to be.

My daughter will be attending the program this year - she built her own website when she was 10 years old and creates Reborn dolls which look like babies. She would like the Lemonade Stand to assist to grow her business to the next level in marketing - she is currently 12 years old.

When and What:
The program begins at 9:15 a.m. on the 5th of April, however the children can be dropped off anytime from 8 a.m.

They will take a lunch break and can even have lunch with their parents if they are nearby. Snacks are provided throughout the 2 days and the program ends at 4 p.m. each day, although the team will happily look after the children right up to 6 p.m. if it is difficult for parents to get in earlier.
