Ever on the lookout for places with amazing atmosphere, great food and scenic views.

In the grounds of Orange Grove Public School, you'll find the Organic Food and Farmer's Market, where early risers and food enthusiasts flock every Saturday morning. Open from 8am, this is one of several venues around Sydney hosting farmer's markets, featuring organic as well as gluten free foods.

Stall holders use clear signage or labelling to show their product's ingredients or indicate whether they are certified organic. Besides the fresh produce, there are also stalls selling plants and handmade products. Not to mention arts and crafts, clothing and jewellery. There's even something for the kids with pony rides happening on the grass area towards the back of the school grounds.

For $6.50, make a pit stop and grab a hot egg and bacon roll for breakfast. This stall is particularly popular among the locals and it's easy to understand why. The rolls are absolutely delicious.

Other stalls will invite you to sample the produce before you buy. The wide variety of fruit and veg available does cost a little more, but it is without doubt higher in quality compared to what you would find elsewhere.

Fresh strawberries straight from the farm

Strawberries for example are at least $6 a punnet depending on which stall you visit. However they are sweet and healthy in size. Best of all, they last a long time and won't spoil in the fridge like some store bought strawberries do after only a matter of days.

If you're a fan of sourdough or gluten free bread, there's plenty to choose from. A bag of four wholemeal sourdough rolls with pumpkin seeds will cost you $4. Made with spelt flour, these rolls not only taste good but are great for your health as well.

The Organic Food and Farmer's Market at Orange Grove is a great place to stroll around and pick up quality goods. Depending on the time you get there, parking can usually be found along the main road or side street. Operating every Saturday morning until 1pm, this is an outing definitely worth putting on your to do list.
