Okay, we know who you are - members of the huge collective of adult Lego enthusiasts. And there's no shame in it. I've never met a closet Lego lover and I can almost hear you cheering when I tell you that the LegoLand Discovery Centre at Chadstone is having a very special (wait for it), adrenalin inducing (stay with me) adults only LegoLand event on Thursday 25th May 2017.
It's no secret kids and Lego go hand-in-hand. They love it, and playing Lego with kids is fun. We also know that playing Lego 'without' kids is fun, too, and some Lego sets are not for kids, catering particularly to the 'grown-ups' who love flexing their passion for design and construction on a very small, very colourful scale.
In the name of honesty, I will confess that the extent of my Lego experience has been trodding on the sharp edged little pieces, then hopping manically about the living room uttering unrepeatable expletives before angrily attacking the offending pile with a shovel and broom. But this event sounds like so much fun I may (may) even be persuaded to check it out.
Unleash your inner child – without the judgemental eyes of real children watching – in the MiniLand Melbourne scavenger hunt. Over 1.5 million Lego bricks have been used to create more than twenty iconic attractions. Will you be able to name them all? After the scavenger hunt, pit your skills against other Lego enthusiasts in one of the speed-build competitions. How fast can you go? As there will be several build challenges, get your game on first with a real life Master Model Builder who will be on hand conducting workshop classes. Build up your stockpile of handy hints, tips and tricks, which will be suitable for everyone from absolute beginner to the more experienced Lego handlers. For a short break, check out the 4D cinema, take a factory tour, then unleash the beast in the Lego brick pits and go wild. The creativity is sure to be amazing.
If you have an intricate, treasured Lego creation at home that you're particularly proud of, bring it along for your chance to win 'Model of the Month' in this exclusive LegoLand competition.
For the hangry builder, food and drink will be available to purchase on the night to keep you fully refreshed.
The LegoLand Adults Only Night is being held on Thursday 25th May 2017 and again on Thursday 22nd June from 7pm to 9pm at the LegoLand Discovery Centre, Chadstone Shopping Centre, 1341 Dandenong Road, Chadstone. Tickets are priced at $32.50 per person and can be purchased through the website. You'll find the LegoLand Discovery Centre website by following the handy link here.
