May 4th has been significant for a number of events over the years. It was infamous in 1886 for the Haymarket Square Riot in Chicago. It was celebratory in 1932 as the date Al Capone finally went to gaol, and dismal in 1982 when the HMS Sheffield was sunk by an Exocet missile during the Falklands War. In recent years it's taken on a much happier tone as
International Star Wars Day (May the Fourth be with you). You can celebrate and get to play with LEGO this May when the comes to Melbourne.
The BrickMan , Australia's own Ryan McNaught is the guy who gets to play with LEGO for a living. Over the weekend of 4 and 5 May he will be constructing a 3 metre tall model of that quirky little Jedi Master, Yoda. Lucky, he is. And all you budding LEGO engineers won't be left out either because you can join in the fun and use your LEGO building skills to help Ryan upsize Yoda using 100, 000 LEGO bricks. It's a big job, but someone's gotta do it.
On 4 and 5 May
Westfield Doncaster will be bursting with Star Wars LEGO. As well as helping with the Yoda build you can see sets from the LEGO Star Wars range on display and compete for prizes in the LEGO speed building challenges. And have your light sabres, silly hair-dos and Darth Vader masks at the ready. If you come as your favourite Star Wars character you can win even more prizes.
