Ryan "The Brickman" McNaught's massive
LEGO RSV Nuyina is on display at the South Australian Museum until April 2023. The model is more than three metres long and consists of a whopping 117,612 LEGO bricks! It was built by a team of three people in 328 hours.
Brickman learned of the RSV Nuyina when he was in Hobart in 2016. Australia's new 3-in-1 icebreaker, floating scientific research platform and resupply vessel was under construction at that time. The ship now makes annual voyages to our research stations in Antarctica.
Do check out its science deck at the rear, moon pool from the science deck to the open ocean, two barges for transporting cargo, unique 'wet well' watertight space and science tender when you visit. There are also animals, aliens, interesting characters and much more if you'll take the time to look.
You can find the ship anchored in the museum's foyer between 10am and 5pm. Entry is free. For more information, please head to
