Every second Thursday from 18 October to 13 December 2018, the Mawson Centre will host an advanced version of the basic Mindstorms course, catering for those keen on learning the more difficult aspects of robotics and programming. The kits used in this course are similar to the ones used in the First Lego League, an annual event held every August that challenges elementary and middle school students to complete a series of tasks with Lego Mindstorms robotics.
This course will focus on teamwork, programming and robot design as well as learning skills to help complete various tough missions. Due to the nature of the course, participants are required to have completed the basic Mindstorms course held every Tuesday or already have prior experience with Lego Mindstorms.
This course will be held over 5 sessions on the following dates:
The course can be booked through the Mawson Centre Eventbrite site. Parent supervision is not required but they are welcome to observe the sessions. Alternatively, parents can spend their time browsing through Mawson Lakes Library which is opened till 7pm on Thursdays.
