Update January 5th 2017
Don't miss Brickvention 2017 which arrives January 14th and 15th at the Royal Melbourne Exhibition. Listen to Radio Eastern 98.1 FM for free Family Tickets being given away.
Are you LEGO mad? Have you been crafting buildings and bikes and boats and bears using these little toy blocks since you were a child. Do you still sneak out to the kids toy box, or the shed and have a therapeutic session of LEGO linkaging. No my bet is you are out and proud with LEGO creations on every table, which you have even signed. I have to confess both myself and my husband or LEGO loonies. I still have my Star Trek Enterprise proudly displayed at my age which is not in the teens. It seems so real it might still "beam me up".
Well either way, I have the convention for you coming up January 16th and 17th, 2016 in Melbourne from 9 AM to 5 PM and it is called Brickvention 2016. This is your chance see and experience LEGO built by the masters.
The event is a volunteer-run, Australian-based convention and public display for LEGO® fans. This group say age is no barrier and people will be coming from all over Australia and possibly the world to view "original and unusual creations built by Australian modelers and collectors. So, if you love LEGO, come along...The event features a huge collection of LEGO models including trains, castles, pirate ships, Star Wars™, space ships, planes, buildings, sculptures and much more".

Or better yet, do you have at home a LEGO creation beyond compare? Have you styled a model that is a legacy to LEGO that you built over tireless hours, days, and months. Well this is your chance to COMPETE with the greats and win.
Or does your LEGO, passed down from grandparent to parent to child, need a few mode con pieces? Then this is also a wonderful chance to beef up your collection with unique, not found easily, LEGO merchandise for sale. I am sure you can sweet talk your wife into putting a new small shed in the backyard to house your LEGO finds of the century. Just promise her something she has always wanted. Of course she will want LEGO!
Harry Potter Still Studying Magic
So put the engine into your LEGO car, and head to the Royal Exhibition Building, Nicholson Street, Carlton, Victoria and get yourself and your kids off those brain drain tech devices and inspire them to building a real "hands on" creation they will forever be proud of. Make this a "bond those LEGO pieces as you bond with your kids" moment.
Friday before the weekend, on JANUARY 15, 2015, a special day will be held for exhibitors and interested AFOLs.
All this for just $15.00 and Kids (4-14) $7.50, tinier than that they are FREE.
PLEASE NOTE there are NO TICKETS ON SALE at the door. You must buy your tickets in advance ONLINE at www.brickventures.org.au
Lego must surely be amongst the world's most succesful inventions. It has truly stood the test of time. We gave some to our 4 year old grandson for Chrsitmas and he was as pleased with them as we were with ours when we were young.
