My friend and I were craving adventure, so we set out on a three hour long sail on the tall ship, Leeuwin II. Everyone helped to raise the sails as we moved out into open ocean.

Once the ship was sailing smoothly, we decided to explore below decks. The first room we came to was the galley (kitchen) where we enjoyed a lunch of fruit and freshly made pizza.

Then we found the crews sleeping quarters which seemed rather cramped with six bunks per cabin, just like a slumber party!

Back on deck there was the opportunity to climb the rigging. We each strapped on a harness and climbed up the foremast which was great fun. Other opportunities included taking the helm.

The ship was now sailing back to the arboreal and our journey was almost over. As we set foot on dry land once more, my only regret was that I had not been able to stay on the ship longer.

Maybe I'll go on the seven day sail!
