The last day of A Golden Age of China: Qianlong Emperor, 1736 - 1795 at the NGV shall have a special event on this Sunday, June 21.
Renowned chef Victor Liong from Lee Ho Fook restaurant will creates a Chinese banquet in the Great Hall at NGV International.
Originating from Sydney, Victor Liong has worked with some of Australia's greatest chefs. As an apprentice to Japanese/French chef Harunobu Inukai at Galileo Restaurant (Observatory Hotel), as chef de partie for Mark Best at Marque Restaurant, and as sous chef at Dan Hong's Mr Wong.
Liong moved to Melbourne in 2013 opening his own restaurant, Lee Ho Fook in Collingwood. His cuisine is a new approach to Chinese food using skills and techniques garnered from Japanese, French and modern cooking styles.
With the exhibition in its last weekend this will be your final chance to explore exquisite treasures from the Forbidden City.
A Golden Age of China has proven to be immensely popular in Melbourne and beyond, showcasing the grandeur of the Qianlong Emperor's court alongside some of the more elemental and accessible treasures of this era. Examples of this include hunting gear, silk robes and more.
Two sittings will be on offer across the day. First between 11am-1pm, and then between 2pm-4pm. Here's your final chance to take in a great exhibition while also enjoying some great Chinese food.
