Lecture on Laos - From Historic Buddhist Temples to Modern Silk Weaving

Readers interested in the arts and culture of Luang Prabang in Laos can attend a FREE lecture organised by the Asian Civilisations Museum (ACM) and Friends of the Museums Singapore from 7pm to 8.30pm on 19 December. It will explore the architecture of this UNESCO World Heritage site and its temples, arts and textiles.
The lecture is led by Denise Heywood based in London. A lecturer for the National Association of Decorative and Fine Art Societies, The Art Fund, School of Oriental and African Studies (University of London), and Madingley Hall (University of Cambridge), Denise worked in Cambodia as a journalist has written books on ancient Luang Prabang and Laos. The lecture is held in the River Room of ACM. No registration is required and seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
