Learn to Surf @ Noosa

Ever wondered how they do it?
Stand upright on a board whilst surfing a wave?
Hmm, sure looks easy when the pros do it, but there's a bit more to it when you're a newbie.
Daniel (one of the local noosa surf instructors) gave some pretty good tips:
Go to your chicken wings position.
Do a pop up (standing up without using your knees).
Instead of getting up on your knee, throw your front foot through and jump straight up.
The trick is as I see it, is to get your foot as far forward as you can, then try to maintain your balance. Got it sorted?
Surfing's a popular thing to do if you're visiting Noosa it seems. I spoke to one lass from Germany who declared that this really was a 'surfer's paradise'... well true... How could I argue with that? A perfect autumn day, the sun was shining, the surf was up.
This little guy was giving it his all. Who know's? One day we might be reading about his surfing success and where it all began...
Even though the waves were pretty small they were constant and quite big enough when your learning... Master the little waves before moving onto the bigger ones.
If you would like to give it a try
Book a class or two . Great way to get fit.
Group classes are held daily at 9am and 1.30pm. There's 'surf and stay' packages, kayak tours, and one on one lessons, too.
