You might be surprised to discover that Latin dancing is very popular in Brisbane. Almost every night of the week there are parties and social dancing events to which regular people flock to let off some steam and catch up with new friends.
For many years a school called Dance Culture has been building a solid reputation as one of the best places to start learning Latin Dancing. They are now launching two new locations: Ashgrove (north side) and Sunnybank (south side). Hundreds of "Not Yet Dancers" have tried their Introduction to Latin Dancing courses in Woolloongabba and the pages of 5-star reviews on their Facebook page speaks for itself.
Dance Culture is now accepting enrolments for their 4-week Introduction to Salsa Dancing course in Ashgrove and in Sunnybank; and for a slightly different one called Introduction to Latin Dancing, which is held in Woolloongabba. The main difference between the courses is that the Introduction to Latin Dancing classes are a bit longer and include a taste test of two other popular Latin dance styles: Bachata and Brazilian Zouk.
These classes will be facilitated by James Quinn-Hawtin who was a choreographer for So You Think You Can Dance Vietnam Edition, is Australia's only Black Belt Dance(tm) instructor and has been featured in the Sunday Mail newspaper. Assisting James is a talented team of instructors (including a national Salsa champion) and assistants who together will help you become the best dancer you can be.
"If you have "Two Left Feet", that's perfect! You're my ideal student because I'm going to transform you into a dancer," James says.
"We literally start by shifting our weight from one foot to another. And, then, using accelerated learning techniques and the Black Belt Dance(tm) system of instruction, you will be busting out moves at Latin Dance parties in no time at all."
Students who try Dance Culture's introductory courses have the opportunity to continue learning via their weekly progressive classes once the course is complete.
