Leapfrogs Cafe is part of the Botanical Golf complex located off Joondalup Drive, that's become a stand-alone go to eatery attracting not just it's following of mini golf fanatics. Offering great breakfasts, tasty lunches and a pizza menu that suits all day into the evening dining, there's something for everyone.
Whilst there's more than simply pizza on the menu, it's the wood fired pizzas on offer that have a loyal fan base and their very own open plan pizza kitchen in the restaurant. If you've got kids with you and you're ordering pizza, a visit to the pizza making area is a must. We've always met the friendliest pizza chefs who've shown our boys how it's all done in addition to giving them a free marshmallow too. Kids will love hearing the bell get rung when the pizza is ready for taking as well as seeing the 'fire' in the pizza oven.
There's a range of wood fired pizzas on offer, including the naughty but nice dessert pizzas too. Pizzas make the perfect meal to share, and you can always get a side portion (or two) to round off your meal as well.
There's a limited kids menu that includes a kiddie sized pizza ($13) but don't let this put you off taking the children, as this is a great place for getting a few main menu items for the family and just sharing. There's a colouring in sheet and crayons available for kids as well, but there's a charge of $1 for this, which is a shame when most other restaurants provide this for free. There's a number of high chairs available but to guarantee your baby a chair, ask for a chair to be set aside when you book. Baby change facilities are available onsite.
If you're not stopping for a full meal, then there's a great selection of cakes available to complement your coffee or beverage. The chocolate brownie is heavenly, and was accidentally eaten before I could take a picture of it; funny how that happens.
Lots of options for relaxed semi alfresco dining
Where and When
Located within the Drover's Precinct on the corner of Joondalup Drive and Wanneroo Road, this restaurant offers a range of dining opportunities with some tables overlooking the botanical golf course, with other tables near the action of the pizza kitchen or inside next to the relaxing pond. However, one thing is for sure, this is a popular little restaurant, so it's a good idea to book ahead to avoid disappointment. ,
