An action packed kids' birthday party
It's not always easy to find a kids' birthday party entertainer that keeps all the guests engaged. The fairies and superheroes are great but some of the kids tend to wander off after a while. I find that sports is often a universal passion for kids but my girls are not that keen on soccer and are too young for swimming.
In my research ,I stumbled upon Leapfrogs Action Sports & Games - which sounded exactly what I was looking for. Leapfrogs run multi-sports and games for parties and will arrive, set-up, keep the kids completely engaged so the parents can relax, and then pack-up before they leave - absolutely fuss and stress-free and so easy.
The founder of Leapfrogs, Adele Flack, was very receptive to the kind of party I wanted and readily took on the challenge to keep 30 kids aged between 2 and 7 years entertained. Adele can tailor your party to exactly what you and the birthday child wants. There are themed games such as mini-Olympics, survivor or Harry Potter as well as traditional tug-o-war, cricket, relay races and more.
We decided to opt for a variety of energetic games with a focus on the parachute for my parachute-obsessed son. We were lucky that the weather was perfect, so we could have our party outside but we did hire a local council hall in case it rained.
The party kicked off with the ginormous inflatable Earth Ball. Adele and her assistant got the kids to lie down in a line and they rolled the ball over them. The kids were absolutely thrilled.
Next up, the biggest parachute ever came out and I was blown away by the creative games that were played with this rainbow stretch of material. Popcorn games with balls, being a mushroom hiding under the material and lots of fun billowing the parachute up and down.
For a full hour, the kids were led through a variety of energetic activities and games with every single child, no matter the age or gender, immersed in Leapfrogs fun.
The parents relaxed on the sidelines and chatted and snacked and I know they were thinking that this was the best party ever (thanks to Leapfrogs). Then it was ice-block and cake time which brought the party to a close. The kids were smiley and sweaty and most important for a mum, our birthday superstars had the most amazing party!
My kids have already asked if we can book Leapfrogs for next year's party. Pshew, glad to have that one sorted already! Besides birthday party hosting, Leapfrogs also run corporate events, multi-sports programs, kids' fitness and preschool programs.
