The skill to knit was one passed down from generation to generation, but when shops like Big W and Kmart made it much easier to procure trendy winter jumpers, there came a generation who no longer wanted to learn the craft of being able to knit.

Thankfully, there seems to be a resurgence of interest and workshops being hosted by
The League of Extraordinary Knitters 2021 on Tuesdays from 16th March 2021 through to 14 December 2021. It does not matter whether you are a novice or already have skills, you will be shown the basics and other techniques to produce items of your choice and ability. The group is not just for "knitters", they welcome anyone who wants to learn or has experience in yarn-based pursuits such as crochet, embroidery and the like.
The group meets in the Innovation Lab of the
City of Belmont Library, Belmont Hub, 213 Wright Street, Cloverdale from 10.00 am to 12 Noon.
Cloverdale, a suburb of Perth, is ten kilometres east of Perth's CBD.
