at Westfield Reserve, Yarra Bend Park, cnr Heidelberg Rd and Yarra Bend Rd, Fairfield on Sunday 23 July from 11am is an easy 3km walk along the Merri Creek, to raise funds for rescue dogs and cats. All funds raised from the entry fee helps Victorian Dog Rescue to continue their work.

CLICK HERE to book. It's $15 for adults, $5 for children aged 4 to 15 and dogs are free. Early Bird Discount is applicable until Monday 3 July 2017, and you'll get adult tickets for $12 and child $3, so get in early. Dogs must remain on a leash at all times at this event.

Bring family and friends and meander along Merri Creek. Bring a picnic or purchase food at the event. There'll be rescue information and merchandise stalls to buy from, plus entertainment on the day, and other dog-related stalls to check out. Come celebrate the third arm of animal welfare in Victoria – community foster-care networks, other rescue groups and all the individuals and groups that help to save dogs and cats in Victoria.

This year, you can also raise money for other rescue groups by getting sponsorship for your walk. Go HERE to create an online fundraising page (you can even add a photo), and click on 'start fundraising' to register yourself or sponsor an individual or team who is already walking. On your online fundraising page, don't forget to write which rescue group you're supporting, as there are a number of rescue groups participating in the walk i.e. Victorian Dog Rescue, Oscar's Law, Noah's Bark and Edgar's Mission.
