Central Queensland Contemporary Artists is a friendly group that formed over 30 years ago. This group is where complete beginners work alongside more experienced artists sharing the love of art and learning as well as encouraging each other. Central Queensland Contemporary Artists is hosting an exhibition "Lead Me to the River" from 30th September to 11th October 2022 at the front gallery ground floor and Studio 4 first floor of Walter Reid Cultural Centre at the corner of East and Derby Streets Rockhampton.



This exhibition is celebrating the Fitzroy River or Tunuba in the local language. Fitzroy River, a river that divides Rockhampton into the south side and north side, plays an important role, not only in the Rockhampton area but in Central Queensland in general as a watercourse, wetland and ecosystem which sustain a diverse range of flora and fauna. This exhibition will feature Central Queensland Contemporary Artists working in a diverse range of mediums and art forms, including watercolour, oil and acrylic painting, charcoal, printmaking, sculpture, batik, mosaic and collage. You can see installations, animations, music and artworks using different mediums including Tetra Pak printing, drawing, paintings and many more.

Exhibition opening night will be at 6PM on Friday the 30th September 2022 and exhibition opening hours will be from 10am to 3pm (Mondays and Tuesdays closed). All welcome and it's all free.
