For a food court restaurant, Le Thai Authentic Thai Cuisine is a pretty nice place to go. They offer your usual pile-a-plate noodle bars, but they also have other thai food available, including some very tasty noodle soups. They're not going to go claiming the best thai food in Sydney prize any time soon, but they are good at what they do.
The highlight of the menu would have to be the noodle soups, especially the laksa and the tom yum. With both you can choose your meat, or decide to go vegetarian. With the seafood soups you'll get plenty of prawns, and the serving sizes are all generous. For many it can be hard to slurp down an entire bowl. They both sit pretty nicely in the centre of the heat meter. There is enough of a kick to make you sweat a little, but no so much that you'll be gasping for a bottle of water by the time you're done.
As well as the noodle soups, there are other menu items to choose from. There are entrees like curry puffs and chicken satay, or you might prefer a tasty Asian salad. Other noodle dishes are also popular, and are made for you on the spot. If you're after something a bit cheaper there are also pre-made meals, that are then piled on to your plate with either rice or noodles.
They are located in Food Court Under Myer, which means if you work in the city chances are Le Thai would be a nearby spot. The make a great quick and easy stop for lunch, just make sure you're not wearing a work shirt if you want to enjoy a noodle soup. They can be pretty messy to eat, and no one really wants to head back to the office with red stains splattered all over their shirt.
So if you're craving laksa while you wander the city, or if you want to try something else on the Le Thai menu, get down there during Westfield opening hours. You'll end up with a hearty and tasty warming meal, all at a pretty cheap price.
