Meal deal magnifique
My partner and I had a child-free evening and were on the lookout for a nice fine dining experience. We wanted good food with a lovely atmosphere. Le Simpatic O Restaurant seemed to be the ideal venue. Upon entering the restaurant, my eyes were drawn to the ceiling. Wherever I looked, there were unusual drawings and a variety of words and statements in French and English. It was humourous and surprising. It was offbeat, particularly for a fine dining establishment in Lane Cove. It was out of the ordinary, and I loved it.
We began our meal with baguette with Isigny butter. It was so tasty, I could have ordered more but mains were on the way. My partner ordered the veal, with vegetables as a side. He had a very pleased expression and nodded his approval. My dish was the jumbo quail. When it arrived, I was initially disappointed, as the quail had been disjointed and decoratively arranged in four sections of my plate. The jumbo quail, then, looked very small. The taste, though, was magnifique and very filling. I am a dessert fiend. No matter how much I eat, desserts are my top priority when visiting a restaurant. This night, I chose well. A smooth velvet mouth-watering crème brulee served with ice cream and biscuit. I was tempted for seconds. My partner chose the soft middle chocolate cake with icecream and caramel. Wow, what a luscious chocolate dessert.
The staff were attentive and their French accents added to the experience of Le Simpatic O. We both agreed, this is a place to return to.
