The name may not measure up to the definition of the restaurant but nevertheless it still sounds good, after all, every word in French sounds romantic or classy. Le Rivage, however, does measure up in the quality of their food. They are newly located at George's Hall in a small complex area.

Sometimes you do not have interest for certain things in life yet they happen to surprise or impress you in some way and I was certainly impressed by the quality of Lebanese food they provide here. We all know that nothing beats homemade food but this place really is not bad if you ask me. They offer mezza (another word for starters) such as Tabouli and fattoush (these are appetisers and not salads as people have become to understand them to be. Some more mezza dishes include dips such as hummus (mashed chickpeas with garlic sauce) and baba ganoush (mashed eggplant again with garlic sauce) - hey garlic is everything and my suggestion is just do not plan to kiss anyone that night, but the garlic is actually used on a light note, so it is not so concentrated like the authentic homemade style. If you like sausages and are someone who likes to try new things, may I suggest that you have a go at the Lebanese sausages called Makanek, they are absolutely to die for with their delicious taste and texture.

This is for starting your night and your appetite, just so you know what you are in for. Keep in mind that if you happen to finish some of these appetisers, then not to worry, as their friendly staff will happily replace these for you, it is all part of their great service! Your main meal becomes filled with grilled chicken and kafta (kafta is simply the minced meat that is mixed with parsley). I'm getting hungry just writing this myself and your experience does not have to stop there.

That is because Lebanese venues know how to give you a good time that is for sure. While you are taking care of your stomach, the venue is taking care of the entertainment while you eat. Yep, you have a dance floor so you can take a break in between your dishes and so you can burn some calories (I think it is the ideal thing). The entertainment is Lebanese music, so if you have the energy then why not get your body moving. You do not need to be coordinated, so you do not need to worry if dancing is not your forte.

They hold birthday parties and cater for all your special occasions, which means you can have a good time and leave the work to the great staff; they understand what celebrating is all about and are more than happy to help.

So next time you are thinking of celebrating for your birthday, or want to hold a party for someone or even have a function for any occasion, give Le Rivage a go! You have nothing to lose aside from calories.
