Adelaide Festival Theatre
The Adelaide Festival Centre presents Le Noir: The Dark Side of Cirque. The show features 24 of the world's greatest circus acts, many of who are former stars of Cirque du Soleil performing mesmerising stunts. It displays balance, contortion and aerial moves that will leave you breathless. This production is a celebration of circus at its finest. Running at The Adelaide Festival Theatre until May 2nd.

This production sees The Festival Theatre as an arena spectacular with chairs surrounding a round stage giving the audience a 360 degree experience. The show was separated into three colours white, red and black or Blanc, Rouge and Noir as it was called in this production.

Featuring a cast of 19 main stars, each separated into a colour, Blanc included Elena Gatilova, Anna Ostepenko, Dasha Shelest and Vadym Pankevych. Rouge featured Jeronimo Ernesto, Jessica Ritchie, Marie-Christine Fournier, Louis-David Simoneau, Valeri Tsvetkov and Yani Stoyanov. Noir included Alexandre Lane, Denis Ignatov, Yulia Lytvynchuk, Valerii Volynets, Gediminas Pavlovicus, Emilie Fournier, Carlos Macias and Angelo Rodriguez.

The Skaters, Jeronimo Ernesto and Jessica Ritchie present a unique and breathtaking dance on roller-skates, but not as its been done before. Ernesto spins Ritchie around and around on a tiny ring stage, but not just by his hands. This act has to be seen to be believed and was just remarkable to watch.

Strong Men, Valeri Tsvetkov and Yani Stoyanov presented a strong men duo, but this was presented differently than I've seen it before, because it was like watching a mirror image as the men looked so much alike and did the moves at the exact same time.

Duo Silk, Dasha Shelest and Vadym Pankevych ascended from a hanging sheet while dancing a romantic mid-air duo. It was just beautiful to watch.

Wheel of Death, Carlos Macias and Angelo Rodriguez attempt something so risky that one wrong move to cause huge disaster. They run, jump and swing on the Wheel of Death. Watching them had me holding my breath, but when it was executed to perfection the crowd went wild.

Executive producers Tim Lawson and Simon Painter said "It's a privilege for us to work with such phenomenal artists and wonderful they have returned to Australia to introduce Le Noir to new audiences".

This is a show not to be missed featuring circus like never before. It will make you gasp in amazement at the tricks they attempt. It's a rare opportunity to see such an amazing adult circus show here in Adelaide.
