A perfect weekend could mean getting up early exercising, getting away or just simply sleeping in late. Different strokes for different folks, but we all need to eat. One of Sydney's favourite weekend to-dos is going out for breakfast, brunch or lunch. If you happen to find yourself in Surry Hills, then finding that perfect morning coffee and dream breakfast is easy just go to Le Monde cafe . This cosy cafe is located on busy Foveaux street in Surry Hills.

A few scattered outside tables to watch the world go by or opt for inside and get to know your the neighbours.

A simple interior with every space covered for maximum seating capacity.

We ordered our coffees straight away. Le Monde make their brew with Five Senses Coffee . I have to agree this is a winning choice in brands. I was finally wide awake.

The menu is simple with a few stand out signature dishes. I was craving eggs and my partner has always been a fan of lashings of bacon, especially after a big night out.

If a tower of bacon, delectable just cooked eggs, dollops of saffron hollandaise sauce cascading over slabs of luscious green avocado, laid on a bed of crispy potato rosti sounds like your dream dish - then you will be in pure breaky heaven. My partner instantly chose the dish I wanted; the Crunchy Potato Rosti -stacked with Smokehouse bacon, roasted cherry tomatoes, chunks of soft feta, spinach, poached egg, drizzled in saffron hollandaise and crushed pistachios. Just reading it made my mouth drool.

I couldn't get the same as I love. I ordered the Eggs Benedict. I almost gave in and chose it served with bacon. I knew I would steal a few slivers from my partner's rosti, so I settled for Smoked Salmon.

My little tower came stacked with perfectly poached eggs. I only had to give my eggs a soft nudge with the fork to release globs of bright orange yumminess. The eggs were also stacked on creamy avocado. All drizzled with a silky saffron hollandaise. The consistency was soft and luxurious without being too rich on the palate or the hangover stomach. A good combination of satiating healthy fat and fibre - just what I needed after such a huge night of Christmas champagne.

We both tucked in with gusto and repeatedly expressed our satisfaction almost licking the plates clean.

As we were eating, our neighbouring table's breakfast arrived. The dishes looked visually tantalising. Le Monde's famous Matcha Pancakes - made with mascarpone cream, fresh fruits, toasted grains and drizzled with coconut espresso.

Mixed Berry and Granola for the light eater. I had to admire this choice. I wake up each morning with light and healthy in mind. I say no more bacon like a mantra. As soon as I enter a cafe and inhale wafts of sizzling bacon, there is no way I can settle for a yoghurt.

We ended our meal with a fresh juice. These tasted as healthy as they looked. Kick Start 6 - Orange, Carrot, Apple, Beetroot & Ginger and Detox Juice 6 - Kale, celery, apple, cucumber, lime and coconut water. Delicious in flavour, the only suggestion I would make for a more refreshing drink, is that they use some crushed ice or chilled fruit when juicing.

It was obvious to us that Le Monde's reputation for providing delicious quality food was well earned. We would definitely recommend this cafe as place to go for great coffee and delicious food.
