Of course, you can enjoy your usual array of coffees - your favourite cappuccino, long black, or latte - but I felt like a small indulgence - coffee with ice-cream - as only the Italians know how to serve it!
Delicious cafe affogato, at Le Jardin, the lobby restaurant of Palazzo Versace.
Here, the faithful to Donatella of the Italian luxury fashion and design house, can not only delight in High Tea, of course cocktails, but also importantly the most exquisite Italian coffees - all whilst seated upon exclusive Versace lounges, overhung by enormous crystal chandeliers, hand crafted mosaic flooring, with a backdrop of the marina, and a view that encompasses the expanse of perfect gold coast sky floating above the resort's sun bathing and swimming areas, all bespoke in white.
As for the affogato itself - It is a generous scoop of vanilla ice-cream, that comes in a cocktail glass and is served alongside hot black 'espresso' coffee, which comes in a tiny silver jug. A small macaroon accompanies it. For $7 it is a small luxury - however the surrounds are sufficiently breathtaking.
Come here to catch up, for a spot for conversation, to dream, or all three. It's open 7 days, from 9 am until late, and I am sure they would make a decaffeinated version of it as well, if enjoyed a later in the evening.
