Walking into Le Beauté Lounge, Yeppoon is like finding hidden treasure. Located in the beautifully restored Old Bakehouse Centre on Normanby Street, the salon is a haven of tranquility and wellbeing. Owner Mel, along with beauty therapists Deb and Peta have created an oasis of calm, on the top floor of this lovely old building. It's easy to forget about the outside world - and cares just slip away.
Today I was booked in for a Guinot Hydradermie facial - a new treatment for me. Deb greeted me warmly and welcomed me into her treatment room, where she went through the treatment steps with me, made sure I was comfortable and then slipped out of the room for me to get changed and settled on the bed. The gentle music and subtle lighting had me relaxed in moments.
Once my treatment was underway, my only worry was that I'd be so chilled out that I'd fall asleep. Deb expertly went through every step and I felt in very safe and capable hands. It was blissful!
Afterwards, I had the chance to chat with Mel and asked her a little about her story and the idea behind Le Beauté Lounge. She told me that her aim was to create a place where she would love to be. Somewhere with soothing energy - and a place where clients feel comfortable. There is a lovely atmosphere here and the ladies are clearly a close-knit team. Mel has been in beauty therapy for ten years - eight of them here at Le Beauté Lounge. When she took the place over, she restyled everything from installing bamboo flooring to all the pretty touches around the salon. Mel is passionate about her business and knew how the salon should look.
In addition to the treatments themselves, Le Beauté Lounge has a huge selection of makeup and skincare products, which include the Australian owned mineral-based cosmetic range Issada, Australian skincare brand Skinstitut and American Hydropeptide. Brisbane-based Gloss & Co is a new addition to the range.

Always keeping an eye to the future and finding ways to further enhance the salon, Mel is currently working with Yeppoon's Coastal Funk, to produce a signature scented candle. It's a lovely way for clients to take a little bit of Le Beauté Lounge's relaxing atmosphere home with them.
