I like to participate in life rather than be a spectator. Music, dancing, theatre, travelling, food, cycling and walking are some of my passions. Writing is an enjoyable pastime that allows me to share my experiences.

With A View To Dine
LB's is located on the ground floor of North Sydney Harbourview Hotel.

We recently stayed at the hotel on a 'romance' package and were able to choose anything from the menu for our three course meal.

The food was well presented, delicious and had some interesting flavour combinations. The two entrees we chose were delicate in flavour and a great start to our meal.

We were seated near the windows which provided us with a lovely view of the city lights. The service was friendly and unobtrusive and perfectly timed for us to savour our food and wine. The beverage list has a range of Australian wines as well as beers, spirits and cocktails.

The beef and duck main courses did not disappoint, each of the proteins perfectly cooked and flavoursome and I am sure the other main options were just as good. The lamb rump was very popular on the night we dined. The menu has plenty of sides if one feels like some extra vegetables.

Although quite full we decided to indulge our tastebuds with dessert. The pear and ginger steamed pudding was light and not too sweet and was accompanied by cardamon creme anglaise.

My favourite was the apple tart tartin with the slightly bitter burnt caramel flavour contrasting with the sweetness of the apples and fresh fruit and the richness of the vanilla bean ice cream.

After three courses, a bottle of wine and being entertained by the city lights and the mellow music from a singer in the adjacent bar we were more than happy with our evening. We were also pleased that we only had to take the lift to our room in the 7th floor.

LB's also serves breakfasts and weekday lunches of contemporary Australian cuisine with unique views of Lavendar Bay and the harbour. Bookings are advised as it is not a large space.
