Lawash Lebanese Bakery on South Road at Thebarton has been covered on Weekend Notes before, but I wanted to mention what I think is their absolute best value deal - their chicken, lamb, or lamb mince rolls.

For $5 for a single or $7.50 for a double, you can enjoy one of these freshly made rolls on deliciously soft, chewy bread, with lettuce, tomato, onion, tangy yoghurt sauce and a secret spice mixture that I can't put my finger on but would be happy putting on everything for the rest of my life. The rest of the menu doesn't exactly break the bank, at around $15 for some grilled meat, salad and rice, but I can't get over that the rolls are still $5 after all this time.
