I've visited a lot of places in the Swan Valley. I found the Lavender Bistro & Boutique located in West Swan to be very relaxing and tranquil. This delightful French cafe and shop is located just round the corner from the Margaret River Chocolate Factory.
Gaze at beautiful country scenery while you eat some scones
It sits on a quiet road opposite a beautiful stretch of countryside. Grab a seat outside and stare out at horses grazing in a field and wind mills and if you're lucky, you will spot a horse and cart ride past!
This horse and cart rode past while we were eating afternoon tea
The Lavender Bistro & Boutique serves high tea, lunch, wine and a selection of cakes and desserts including lavender flavoured ice-cream and scones. They have a Set Menu for Lunch that costs between $35 and $40 a head that consists of the Soup of the Day, a Main Dish and then a scone served with a side dish of cream and jam.
I really liked the creative use of purple and lavender used in the café. There were purple napkins on the tables, vases filled with lavender, and the tea cup that came out with the pot of tea we ordered had a pattern of bees and lavender on it. I also liked some of the artwork that was on the walls. The gum tree mirrors were very nice!
When we went to the Lavender Bistro & Boutique, I ordered a hot chocolate for $4.00 and a serving of freshly baked scones for $8.00. You are served two scones and have a choice between plain or lavender flavoured. They are served with the jam of the day and a side dish of cream. I decided to get one plain scone and one lavender.
I was really impressed with the dish when it came out. The scones came on a purple napkin and there was even a little piece of lavender in my cream! It was very cute. The scones were piping hot and delicious. I could taste the lavender in them and in the jam.
