The annual Lavandula Lavender Festival will take place on Sunday 12 January 2014. Lavandula is 10 minutes north of Daylesford.
Lavandula Swiss Italian Farm was re-created to enjoy the traditional mixed farm lifestyle of those earlier settlers. It is a place to visit all year round.
Come and celebrate the harvesting of the lavender by hand using half moon sickles, which will be bunched and dried beneath the verandah of the homestead. After the lavender is dried, it will go onto to be distilled to produce lavender water and essential oil.
It will be a day filled with workshops, entertainment, activities for the kids, demonstrations and food including the famous lavender scones.
While watching the harvest you can enjoy a stroll around the gardens, view the barn where you will find an array of homewares, potions and lotions, relax in the cafe or meet the farm animals.
The festival begins at 10.30 am and finish about 5.00 pm.
Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash.
