This 1.4 kms drive runs between Ingram and Killara Roads.

It has several meanders and some gentle undulations.

Many gardens featured camellia trees with flowers of different hues, including one with subtle yellow tones.

Azaleas always look colourful, seen as a multitude of blooms or a close up of just a couple of flowers.

Lauriston Drive appears to be the abode of many patriotic citizens and tradies, judging by the number of Australian flags flying and tradie vehicles parked on premises.

A colourful plant seen was a couple of bird of paradise flowers almost hidden in their foliage.

Grevilleas and an erica plant added some warmth on a cold day.

Of more subtle colourings were several protea bushes in full bloom and a lasiandra bush.

Not an exotic animal sighting, but unusual on street walks was seeing four cats. A pure white one sitting on an external window sill and two on an internal window sill. The fourth one was very shy and ran away at my approach.

Despite the length of the drive, only one dog walker was seen. One cyclist was seen peddling along nearing Killara Road.

The silence of my walk was broken by the loud barking of a little terrier as I passed their territory. The bark was loud, teeth were seen, but the tail was wagging.

Shortly after I heard the nearby warbling of two magpies. Searching the overhead tree I did not see them although the warbling continued. They were on the ground just a metre or so from me.

High above me, I noticed a red flowering gum tree in flower, where on lower branches were a good display of gum nuts.

Banksias featured in many gardens, including a large mature one with countless cones pointing skywards.

Many gardens featured numerous ornaments, including birdbaths, a donkey and cart, a wagon wheel and a wishing well. Beneath a row of windows, a garden bed was full of ornaments.

The only other birds seen was a wattlebird and a spotted dove.

All houses were of brick veneer construction, so it was unusual to find one with a lychgate and picket fence. Combined with a full flowering Cootamundra wattle tree it was a magnificent sight.

The flowers kept coming with a brilliant yellow daisy bush, a more subtle coloured specimen, and a polygala bush.

Jonquils featured in many gardens. A large patch of swamp foxtails look nice wavering in the gentle breeze.

This is a great walk if only for the numerous garden ornaments.
